Cad Plans Wood Burners

T-Mobile Touch Pro2

trackers, fans and casual observers of HTC as all know that when the company launches a new landscape QWERTY model is a big deal. In fact, it's more a big deal - it's a big deal. Many describe it as the ultimate smartphone form factor, the perfect execution of an entire modern device is capable of doing - and realistically, no company has as much experience or know-how to plant landscape QWERTY sliders HTC do.

Therefore the mass of subscribers is almost all are on the edge of their seats waiting for the Touch Pro2 is the press release. Whether you love, hate, or feel nothing but pure and intact ambivalence about Windows Mobile, it is difficult to argue that the Pro2 is not a smartphone beautiful remote and slightly twisted version - T-Mobile USA is no exception. Unless you are desperate for quality SLR photography (which you are frankly not going to do regardless of what phone you buy), the sheet reads like a dream - a wide screen 3.6 inches WVGA, full QWERTY screen Tilt, 3G and WiFi all you need, and HTC latest and greatest construction TouchFLO 3D is constantly working to ensure that WinMo Nice clean - but it is true love or just lipstick on a pig? Let's take a look.

Material
Inevitably, your instinct is to call the Touch Pro2 enormous. It's a natural thought given the phone's capabilities and its mechanics - the tilt mechanism - drag, for example - and your reaction might be even "Wow, this chunky" when you hold in your hand for the first time without any context. In reality, however, the phone is really not much bigger than your average smartphone. holding a Snap seriously puts everything in perspective - in the eye of your mind, the latest HTC WinMo Standard whole might be, for example, three-quarters the size of the Touch Pro2, but it turns out that the dimensions in height by the width are virtually identical and the additional girth Pro2 is not enough to freak out more. In fact, it is a millimeter thinner (more or less) than Pro Touch your average old, and it will slip into a pocket almost as easily as iPhone will . In this regard, the absence of soft-touch plastic on the battery cover is both a blessing and a curse - a blessing because there is less friction, making it easier to store and retrieve, a curse because ... Thus, soft-touch plastic is quite impressive.

That said, the Touch Pro2 is an important phone - you will not soon forget you're carrying. Although it 1500mAh battery pack from the factory, we were surprised to find out that the phone has not much lighter, and often remove the battery of a phone (or even a laptop) will do the rest of the electronic ball feel like a featherweight, but with the Pro2 it's just not the case. We do not know where this weight is going exactly, but we'll chalk it to quality construction, because the thing feels like it is built to last. The sliding mechanism - while not softer than we've ever used - did not play in this area whatsoever, even after much use and violin as well, tilting hinge felt as it was forged from pieces of surplus tank. The action on the two mechanisms is a little on the heavy side, but we'd certainly rather they are too heavy too light - like the rest, it contributes to the perception (and I hope that the reality ) quality construction.

Anyone concerned "version T-Mobile mocha" color, simply should not be. The brown color is subtle and subdued - T-Mobile HTC and are clearly aware that this phone has aspirations meeting room the minute he is born, and they were not about to screw it up with some bad decisions made in industrial design.

In fact, if anything, the phone too private enterprise. by comparing it to the unlocked GSM version, the variant T-Mobile loses tasteful chrome ring around the face and edges more places, making the phone almost look cheap in some ways (and cheap thing the Touch Pro2 certainly is not t). We also found that the stylus slipped a lot easier on unlocking Pro2, something we attribute to the completely different form and style of the battery cover (with the T-Mobile, coverage does not include the stylus hole, with the unlocked model, it does). On the positive side, the gains from T-Mobile version external access to the microSD slot - you must remove the battery cover if you unlocked. And anyone who often withdraw their microSD card must take a step back and take a long hard look why they do this - but at the end of the day, we prefer the ease of access.

The keyboard is excellent, and most users are happy to learn that T-Mobile version of the phone keeps the digital leased line, unlike some versions (ahem, AT & T) that seem to go in the direction of a numerical scheme touch of style. Tactile sensation is superb, the key separation is perfect, and we found that we were not typing with errors, making it the top-auto-correction is not particularly necessary. In fact, we are surprised how quickly we were belting messages.

Software

We do not superstition, but we have to say: unlike some phones in the recent history of HTC, it seems that they go out the door with a large ROM here. This is not crashy, and perhaps more importantly, it is fast. TouchFLO 3D is not the lightest piece of coding in the world, but this particular Pro2, it works like a boxer. In fact, we can not even remember once when we noticed lagginess with TouchFLO good - there were some redraw lag when browsing from time to time, but we can not really fault the phone for that (Snapdragon would have helped there, perhaps, but it is no use crying over spilled milk).

Learn TouchFLO 3D is how to load software for Touch Pro2, with a couple of very important exceptions. First, the launcher is myFaves home screen by default, replacing the ubiquitous clock display TouchFLO, which will be a little confusing for some, especially since we were not able to find a way to retrieve it. In addition, you can not get rid of reorganizing or even myFaves tab - it's just permanently stuck there on the far left. To be fair, T-Mobile has not barfed its brand image throughout this ROM, but we wanted a bit more control here. ( Updated: turns out you can actually get the TouchFLO home screen classic, but you have to go through myFaves settings, not TouchFLO settings - some intuitive, but at least it's there. L Skyler thank you,!)

As with other phones TouchFLO, HTC has done what it can to make the Pro2 finger-friendly. Inevitably, it is not possible to consider that his conclusion comes with Windows Mobile 6.1, which is why you still have that pen there - but they did an incredible job. If you can stay within the ecosystem TouchFLO without wandering stock WinMo - which is easier to do that all before, we argue - you might actually be able to remove it. Unfortunately, the phone is still hampered by a resistive screen that has a little too much "give" to the touch, which is mainly an issue with scrolling through lists and browsers, where the fingertip is sometimes a tendency to "bounce" on the screen and inadvertently trigger a selection action. It happened often enough for us to be boring, but we imagine you'd be able to tip the habit with practice.

We found it fascinating that HTC has chosen to launch Internet Explorer by default when you select the Internet tab of TouchFLO. Bad choice. The ROM also includes conveniently Opera Mobile, which provides a better experience from beginning to end, in fact, we were not even able to load the full version of engadget.com to an end with Internet Explorer, Opera, but Worked like a champ (as it usually does). Touch Pro2 dedicated zoom bar below the screen really shines here, seamlessly zoom in and out as easily and effectively an iPhone - in fact, we even found that we preferred the bar with a pinch gesture iPhone - style in certain situations because it makes browsing experience more than one hand.

T-Mobile has adopted a hands-off approach with the Touch Pro2 is praised "the people - centric add-ons, too. On contact, you can see a unified view of e-mails, messages and phone calls exchanged with this person - we dare you try this with a WinMo device stock - and it works exactly as advertised. business users will also enjoy Heavy wonderful speaker, who rightly HTC a huge deal back in his announcement February - just return the phone during the hire, and you even had a dedicated mute button around back (see video to see this in action - this is seriously cool). It works and sounds good, and is one of the few phones on the market that we could seriously argue that access to conference speaker for daily duty.

Wrap-up

For T-Mobile customers in the WinMo ecosystem, the Touch Pro2 is a dream come true, if for no other reason than the fact that it replaces the old wing, a phone that heroically served the lineup of detail and his time. Beyond that, however, the Touch Pro2 could very well represent the largest Windows Mobile device on a U.S. carrier available today - even the original Touch Pro Fuze and owners have good reason to cast an envious eye in the sense of this thing as it hits shelves today. Do not worry, though, the carriers will love this unit as they love a high ARPU, and regardless of who you pledge your loyalty and your monthly payment, chances are very high, it comes close to programming to you within a few weeks.
