G20 SUMMIT Opponents in Street

In South Korea, the Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Seoul today to protest against the presentation of the G20 summit.


Several labor groups have joined the protesters for the occasion. The rally also included in its ranks of students, politicians and international activists.
According to organizers, more than 10,000 people attended a rally in the South Korean capital, but the police rather evaluate this number to 3500.
The police presence is impressive: more than 3,000 riot police armed with tear gas and water cannons were deployed on the ground to frame the protesters. Clashes have erupted here and there, but no arrests have been made.
Opponents of the G20 call for a redistribution of wealth and greater job stability. They oppose free trade agreements and demanded the withdrawal of South Korean troops from Afghanistan.
The G20 Summit meet the 19 most powerful nations of the world and the European Union. This is the first time it is presented in Asia.
