I attended this week a very interesting conference given by Lori Saint-Martin, a literature professor and researcher at the Research Institute feminist studies UQAM.
The conference, titled "What the press says men to men" and included preliminary results of her research among others on the magazine Summum.
Not surprisingly, his conclusions were that Summum was a magazine without substance, with a very low content and presented an image of men and women very limited and stereotyped. It stated inter alia the following observations:
1 - Many men dressed women and a lot of hair.
Summum claims to be "sexy but not vulgar" and do not want to be associated with pornographic magazines like Playboy. I'll let you judge the achievement of this goal or not ...
2 - The editorial content is crap.

sum, Summum is the big shit. This is just one more tool to reinforce stereotypes and objectify women (and men with Summum girl ) more and more.
